Wareham Forest in Autumn

Wareham forest is a lovely place to wander for an hour or two, particularly in Autumn when the bracken is changing colour and there is fungi to find!

We came across this imaginatively-named pool, but there wasn't a monster in sight!  We did spot a kingfisher, however, but weren't quick enough with our camera unfortunately.

We also found a wide range of fungi, most of which we can't name, although we know the red one above is Fly Agaric.  If you want to try and find it yourself, it grows near birch trees, but beware it's poisonous!  If you want to see more fungi, see our separate posting Fungi Foray, where we feature pictures of the many fungi we've spotted on our rambles.
